After an end to yet another interesting footballing weekend, match day three served up some unexpected results. Here’s a brief overview some selected results from match day 3:
Spurs huffed and puffed their way over the finish line against a resilient Wolverhampton Wonderers. It took a late goal from Harry Kane to seal the 3 points for the North London team, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.
Patrick Vieira has Crystal Palace playing some of the most entertaining football in the league at the moment and their ability to vary their formations at will is truly remarkable considering that this is only Vieira’s second season at the club. They made light work of Steven Gerard’s Aston Villa 3-1.
Fulham stunned Brentford with a late penalty from Mitrovic to make it 3-2 and take all 3 points for the new comers who have started life well in the Premier League.
Brendon Rodgers and his Leicester woes continued this week after after losing by two goals to one at home to a Southampton side with their own struggles. Leicester’s problems off the field are starting to show on the field after only having collected a single point in their opening 3 games. Having lost some senior and key players , Leicester is still the only team that has yet to sign an outfield player. And the fact that they have no guarantees that the likes of Fofana, Maddison and Tielimans will still be at the club come the end of the transfer window spells disaster for the Foxes.
This guy really is on fire!! I hear Arsenal want him, but I don't know if they really need him. Arsenal have a good team and great ball players this season
